Online shop linked to internal database
Owner David Good approached us to produce a bespoke e-commerce website for his sheet music business. Providing printed on-demand sheet music from their premises in Gloucestershire, Goodmusic Publishing use a custom-built system to manage their orders.
Find out more below on how we used:
Wireframes to ensure user friendly design
Customer login to save their details
Seamless integration with third party software
Secure card payments with Takepayments
In-house code
We don't outsource web development. Our websites and online systems are coded by our team in Cheltenham.
Wireframes to ensure user friendly design
'Wireframes' are simple page layouts that provide a visual set of requirements for your website. The stripped down view of the page lets us quickly present ideas and adapt to feedback.
The Goodmusic Publishing website required several different pages, with the need to plan the process of buying products as well as the management area behind the scenes. As a client, visual presentation of ideas makes it easier to see if things work, make sure everything is included, and provide better feedback.
We produced wireframe designs for key stages like the home page, product search results, and the various pages through the checkout process. After detailed communication and changes, we applied the final version to a graphic design, and only then started live development.
Customer login to save their details
As a bespoke e-commerce website, the Goodmusic Publishing website has a number of specific features. Customers can search by keyword, browse by customer name, or read recommended shortlists to find their music.
Shopping is made easier with an online login for regular customers, which includes:
- Secure encrypted password
- Orders history
- Pre-filled checkout fields
- Trade customer features
- Ability to download digital versions again later
Seamless integration with third party software
We created an import function for CSV files which instantly update the full product catalogue on the website. So they're always in control.
New orders are stored in our bespoke management system, where Goodmusic can transfer to their software and arrange fulfilment.
The diagram below gives an overview of how the various elements connect together:
Secure card payments with Takepayments
E-commerce websites require specialist partners to handle the payment gateway and ensure secure handling of your customers' details. We've integrated with payment providers including SagePay (now Opayo), eHSBC, PayPal, Stripe and WorldPay.
This online shop was integrated with SagePay initially, and then when the client changed suppliers we were able to easily switch to use Takepayments.
