How we deliver the design you want - on time, every time.
One advantage of designing primarily for a digital medium is our proven and established design process. TruClass came to us with strong ideas of how their site needed to look for their target market. After applying our design process they were delighted with the outcome.
- Discuss: At the start of every project like to chat, exchange ideas and really get to know the details behind your concept
- Moodboard: Once we are certain we understand each other, we construct a collection of design ideas and concepts that match your vision
- Initial Design: Having refined and discussed the moodboard we then design as many pages as necessary to fully encapsulate the final website
- Web build: Our design process continues through the actual build of your site with tweaks applied where necessary to make the site work for you and your users.

the initial Discussion
From the outset, TruClass had a strong idea of how some elements of their design needed to work. A sketch of a monkey character and a rough logo formed part of the initial working brief.
Alongside a verbal discussion, Jan and Vanessa were provided with our Design Questionnaire to help them get their design preferences down on paper in a format that we can apply to the project. This included a list of existing websites and other design concepts (both on and offline) they liked .
Beyond visual design, we also discussed the nature of the end product, how the online tutoring would work and the markets being targetted. All of these factors were important in ensuring the site would actually perform functionally as well as look good.
I love the new moodboard - there is nothing there I don't like. The pictures are great.
Vanessa Luk, TruClass
Once we had the results of the design questionnaire coupled with an understanding of the wider project, we were able to bring together a collection of designs, colours, textures and styles that we felt reflected the design concepts that TruClass were looking for in their website.
The moodboard was then presented to Jan and Vanessa for their comments and feedback. The elements which accurately reflected their imagined version of the final website would be carried forward to the initial design and those that weren't quite right could then be left out.
The beauty of a moodboard is that it very quickly identifies the most important concepts for the initial design. More often than not, this results in a design that requires only minor tweaks, not major overhauls.
We have taken a look and are very excited!! We love the new logo - very clever to make it into a speech bubble. We really like the colours and the general vibrancy of it.
Vanessa Luk, TruClass
After the moodboard was presented and reviewed, we could begin designing a mock home page for the site itself. The design was informed not only by the choices and preferences exposed through our design conversations, questionnaire and moodboard, but also through our ongoing technical conversation regarding the functionality of the final website.
At this stage, important functional and marketing considerations such as the prominence of the registration process and video demonstration were subsumed into the design process. The relative importance of all the various design elements could then be reflected in the layout of the initial design to ensure that it matched up to the priorities for our client and their future customers.
To ensure consistency with the design we even took the opportunity to re-imagine the existing TruClass logo for free. We also developed the final monkey character design from the initial sketches, with both online and offline promotional materials in mind.
Once the home page design was signed off, we created design concepts for the inner pages of the site. These designs were then applied to the site by our in-house developers whilst minor tweaks were made to improve usability.
Finally, we developed the responsive layouts to ensure that the site worked for customers no matter what device they were using.
